Can interviews be filled out by non-HotDocs users?

Document Services

After you’ve developed templates in HotDocs, who can use those templates to create customized documents on a regular basis? Are end-users required to have HotDocs licenses? Or can interviews be filled out by non-HotDocs users?

The answer is: it depends.

If you are working on the desktop or on a private server, all those who are creating documents must have a license to either HotDocs Developer or HotDocs User. Those with Developer licenses can create and edit templates and use those templates to generate documents, whereas those with User licenses can only create documents from templates—they cannot develop or edit the templates themselves.

On the other hand, if you are working in the cloud with HotDocs Document Services, you can email “client interview” links to people who do not own HotDocs software, and they can then easily fill out the interviews online using the web browser on any PC or Mac. You can also post links to interviews on your website, which lets you create error-free documents before directly communicating with the client, saving you loads of time and money.

Document Services is a subscription-based product starting at $99 per month for up to 5 internal users. For more information about this product and pricing options, contact us at 800-500-3627 or post a comment or question below.
