HotDocs Corporation Announces Ground-Breaking Cloud Technology for Lawyers
Lindon, Utah and Edinburgh, Scotland – January 30, 2012 – HotDocs Corporation today announced a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application that will dramatically affect the way law firms of all sizes do business. Coined HotDocs Document Services, the new technology paves the way for thousands of law firms already using HotDocs to transition from the desktop to the internet for document production. Headlining the list of features of HotDocs Document Services is automated client interviews, which enables law firms to email interactive HotDocs interviews directly to clients or to post client interviews on the firm’s web site.
“Until now, small law offices have been at a technological disadvantage,” commented Leonard DuCharme, Chief Strategy Officer at HotDocs Corporation. “HotDocs Server, which up until now has been necessary for web-based deployment of HotDocs templates, is simply outside small-firm budgets. HotDocs Document Services, in contrast, requires virtually no up-front costs and is priced so that even the smallest law offices can take advantage of its powerful features.”
In addition to making cloud-based document generation available on a mass scale, HotDocs Document Services addresses one of the most costly areas of client interaction: data gathering. “Most firms have a lawyer interview each client, asking all relevant questions for the matter at hand, and then someone transcribes the answers into a desktop-based HotDocs interview,” said DuCharme. “HotDocs Document Services enables a law firm to let the client enter the data on his or her own time, using his or her own computer. Once the client is done answering the questions, he or she submits the answers. The law firm can then generate multiple related documents from the answer set. From the law firm’s perspective, the entire process—from client engagement to finished documents—takes just a few minutes. It’s incredibly powerful.”
Pricing on HotDocs Document Services, which will be unveiled at New York LegalTech on January 30, 2012, will average less than $20 per user per month.
