Latest HotDocs Release a Giant Step Forward for Server-Based Document Assembly

Lindon, Utah and Edinburgh, Scotland- June 9, 2010-HotDocs Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of HotDocs Ltd, today announced the release of theHotDocs 10 suite, the latest version of its award-winning document automation and assembly software. In addition to many minor improvements, HotDocs Developer 10, the company’s flagship document and form automation software, and HotDocs User 10, a new desktop-based, runtime software application, now support the upcoming release of Microsoft Office 2010. The most significant changes to the suite involve HotDocs Server 10, the company’s technology for deploying HotDocs templates via the Internet. With the version 10 release, HotDocs Server is now Microsoft Silverlight enabled.

“TheSilverlight integration is a dramatic improvement for three reasons,” explained Lowell Stewart, the Director of Software Development for HotDocs Corporation. “First, interviews for server-based HotDocs templates can now be accessed using Internet Explorer® and Firefox® on Windows® and Safari® and Firefox on Mac OS®. In the past, Server interviews were limited to Internet Explorer. Second, the new interviews have an updated look and feel, a fact which users should notice immediately. And third, and this one is the real game changer,” pointed out Stewart, “the new interviews run several times faster, often ten to twenty times faster, than JavaScript-based interviews.”

Stewart’s enthusiasm for the HotDocs Server upgrade was echoed by Leonard DuCharme, the company’s Marketing VP: “Many of our global customers use HotDocs to generate enormously complex documents, sophisticated loan agreements, legal contracts, and other documents which can run to hundreds of pages with thousands of variables. For the generation of such documents,” explained DuCharme, “the JavaScript-based interviews were functional but slow. Silverlight dramatically accelerates the interview process, which improves productivity and ultimately saves money.”

The HotDocs 10 suite also includes realigned feature sets and name changes to several of its products.
